Stylish Island Living with David & Anne-Marie
"The villa was stunning… our group of friends liked it so much they didn't want to leave!"
Last September, long-time Hideaways Club members David and Anne-Marie Taylor, the duo behind travel blog The TRIP {COLLECTION}, chose to soak up the last of the summer sun in Sardinia. Known for their eye for style and passion for travel, the couple explored the quieter side of the island-staying at Hideaways Club's Casa Cielo and sharing their curated experiences with their growing online community.
"The interior design is contemporary and stylish… best of all are the big outdoor chillout areas, one for morning coffee moments and daytime chilling, and another for outdoor dinner."
From Casa Cielo's mountain views and infinity pool to seaside lunches and chic beach clubs, the week delivered a laid-back slice of Sardinian life.
Discovering Sardinia - Their Highlights
DO
A trip to Sardinia wouldn't be complete without a taste of its wine-and David and Anne-Marie found a standout experience at Lu Beddu, a family-run winery in the island's rural heart.
"The vineyard's traditional methods and rustic atmosphere create an unforgettable tasting experience… the owners are entertaining and fun too!"
On Thursdays, they ventured to San Pantaleo, a mountain town brought to life by its weekly artisan market.
"The market attracts both locals and tourists, creating a vibrant yet authentic atmosphere."
And for the sporty types in their group, the padel tennis courts just 10-15 minutes away proved to be a real bonus.
SHOP
While the couple appreciated the quieter corners of Sardinia, they also dipped into the island's glitz with a visit to Porto Cervo.
"Sardinia's glitziest playground… high-end shopping with brands like Prada and Louis Vuitton. It felt quiet in September but likely has more of a Saint-Tropez vibe in summer."
DINE
David and Anne-Marie sampled a host of restaurants during their trip-from beach clubs to fine dining.
Covo del Mare for relaxed seaside lunches with ocean views.
Oasis Beach for fresh seafood and a more refined setting.
Fino Beach for stylish simplicity and a lighter bite.
But their favourite?
"Bambusa was our favourite place for dinner, right on the water in Porto Rotondo. Chic décor, friendly service and refined Mediterranean cuisine with a twist."
They also splurged on a final meal at Capogiro in the 7Pines Resort.
"The gourmet cuisine elevates Sardinian dishes with creative twists. The service was the best we had in Sardinia."
Why Sardinia?
"Sardinia has lovely beaches with a more relaxed, chilled-out vibe compared to Ibiza. The mountain scenery is a stunning backdrop and there are lots of walks and natural sights to explore. And if you're in the mood for a bit of bling, there's always Porto Cervo!"
