Behind The Hideaways...

Blanca Zorrilla Crusat, Regional Operations Manager

Blanca joined The Hideaways Club in 2024 and works as Regional Operations Manager from its Head Office in Malaga.

Blanca has over a decade's experience in hospitality; she started her career as a receptionist at Barceló Hotel Group, Spain's second largest hotel chain, and progressed through the ranks to Deputy Manager at its popular hotel, Hamilton Menorca. More recently, she headed up the operations at property investment firm, Globe Iberia-Estates, before joining The Hideaways Club.

Here we get to know Blanca a bit better, from what she does day-to-day to hearing about the most recent renovation projects she has coordinated.

Tell us about a normal day as Regional Operations Manager at The Hideaways Club?

A 'normal' day depends on the time of the year.

During high season, my days are dedicated to liaising with the property managers to make sure all homes meet our members' expectations. From solving issues to fulfilling requests, collaborating with partners or making improvements to properties, it is non-stop! It is also the time we work on finalising refurbishment plans for the 'low season'.

When it comes to low season, we carry out required renovation work on our properties. I visit the homes and work closely with the property managers and local partners to turn plans into reality. Our focus is on delivering our properties in perfect condition, while continuing to provide a high-level service to our members.

What projects have you worked on recently, and what are you most proud of?

I am currently working on four projects, three major refurbishments and our new addition to the Club's property portfolio, Casa Las Flores.

In Barcelona, we have completed the apartment renovation at Calle Princesa, utilising our network of local providers, supported by the experienced design team at Cocovara in London. The apartment has been completely transformed; we hope our Members will appreciated its updated, homely appeal.

Over in Mallorca, our wonderful villas, Gran Vista and La Pleta, are undergoing major refurbishments. Phase one was completed in 2024; this year we are carrying out the second phase. At Gran Vista, we are improving the exterior (BBQ and pool area), and updating the bedrooms with soft furnishings in Mediterranean-inspired tones. At La Pleta, we are refurbishing the bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchen area, completing the full-scale renovation we started last year in the living spaces and pool area.

The final project is opening our new villa in Mijas Golf, Casa Las Flores. This fantastic new property will offer Members a year-round destination to visit, perfectly positioned to enjoy Andalusia's array of amenities.

What is your favourite club destination and why?

So far, I would say Gran Vista is the top of my list! It's a beautiful layout, both indoors and outdoors, with a perfect Mediterranean summer vibe. I'm sure many memories will continue to be made here, and holidays that will be remembered forever.

What do you think is the most unique thing about The Hideaways Club?

The Club's genuine commitment to offering Members more than just properties to holiday in; its goal is to create unforgettable experiences. During my time at the Club, I have seen first-hand how the team cares for Members as if they were friends or family, always dedicated to giving them the very best experience. Being part of a team where one of its biggest goals is to create wonderful memories gives me great satisfaction.

How do you spend your time outside of work?

I love to travel and really getting to know new cultures, as well as trying the local gastronomy (this would be number one!). I'm a huge pottery fan and enjoy going to my friend's studio to create new pieces. This hobby has given me a different perspective of art and sculpture and I have learned to appreciate it more. I also love hiking and being in nature. For the last couple of years, I have trekked the Camino de Santiago which has helped me pause from daily life and reconnect with myself.
