A jewel of the Alps
In the heart of the Chamonix Valley, the enchanting Les Houches is an atmospheric ski village with breath-taking scenery.
The resort is renowned for its views of Mont Blanc, diverse ski slopes suitable for the beginners to the advanced, and a range of both winter and summer activities for all the family.
It is home to the Club's new ski winter lease, Chalet Petit Bechard. A blend of modern architecture and traditional Alpine charm, this exquisite property is perfectly situated for the ultimate sporting adventure, with a whole host of experiences to have in the area.
The ski
Winter in Les Houches means skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing.
The family-friendly winter wonderland offers 360-degree views of
the valley and serves as a gateway to the Chamonix Mont-Blanc ski
area. It has over 55km of pistes, and the largest number of
prepared runs in the Chamonix Valley, with almost entirely wooded
slopes. The high-altitude hotspot, Grand Montets (Argentiere), is
just a short drive away, and is covered with the full area ski
pass.
The apres-ski
Although quieter than Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, which is accessible via
bus all day and night, Les Houches has a pleasant ambience
after-hours, with a good selection of restaurants and bars. Le
Basilic serves up seasonal Savoie dishes, and Le Delice is known
for its excellent food and family-run, welcoming atmosphere. For
sundowners, there are four main nightlife areas, Le Prarion, La
Bellevue, Le Centre and St-Antoine, all of which are on the main
road through Les Houches.
The summer
From mountain biking to paragliding, Les Houches transforms into a
green paradise playground over the summer months. The area has
several trails with stunning views of the mountains, varying in
difficulty to accommodate both casual walkers and experience
hikers. Mountain biking enthusiasts can take advantage of a range
of routes, and for an adrenalin-filled aerial perspective of this
stunning valley, parapente flights promise an unforgettable
experience.
The surrounding
area
The nearby towns of Courmayeur, Megeve, and Contamine-Montjoie are
all within a 30-minute drive, boasting some of the best places to
eat, drink, spa and ski in Europe.
