Bol: Home to Brac’s Iconic Zlatni Rat Beach
Explore Beaches and Watersports
Heading to the south of the island, Bol is the oldest town on Brac's coastline. Bol is famous for Zlatni Rat (meaning 'Golden Horn'), a wide gravel spit which extends into the Adriatic Sea. Its tip turns to the left or right, depending on the wind direction. The best view of this phenomenon can be found from the highest point on the island, Vidova Gora. The spit can be easily reached on foot from the seafront, or alternatively, you can take the toy train or wooden taxi boat to view it. The beach here is very popular during the summer months. Other local beaches include Borak beach, which has several sporting activities on offer, such as windsurfing and volleyball, as well as a lively beach bar and restaurant. There are plenty of dining and evening entertainment options in Bol, and if you are on Brac during summer, don't forget Bol's patron saint's day is held on 5th August.
