An Astonishing 45m Icon

This astonishing 45m statue of Lord Buddha sits on top of the Nakkerd Hills, between Chalong and Kata and offers the best 360 degree view of the island. Known amongst the locals as the Phra Puttamingmongkol Akenakkiri Buddha in full, it is 25 meters across at the base with the whole body layered in white Burmese marble. Though it is not yet 100% complete it is certainly worth a visit and the statue itself is breath-taking.
