Sicilian Seaside Treasure

Avola is well known for the production of almonds and Nero d'Avola wine. The ancient town destroyed by the earthquake in 1693 was rebuilt in front of the seaside in a shape of a hexagon. The town has some beautiful sandy beaches and in the historic centre you will find the 18th century churches, the Garibaldi theatre, the old street market and lots of outdoor cafes.
