In winter you will find a line of skis outside the door and skiboots in the genkan area, as it is possible to ski through the backcountry to this onsen from main resort, provided they are willing to hike back. Settled in the valley floor between two mountains almost in the middle of nowhere, the sense of being with nature is truly blissful. Facilities are basic, but clean and the waters are very relaxing.
