Nature's Healing Powers

South of Lake Toya, there is a famous onsen town - filled with natural hot springs - where the local culture has created an almost mythical story around the steaming pools of sulfurous water. Giant devils, painted in vibrant colours, each with their own menacing look are lining the entrance to Hells Valley. From here you can explore the boardwalks right up into the mouth of the yellow stained rocks, or climb high above the foul smelling air to see the volcanic waters below.
