Water Adventures and Caldera Views

Easily accessed by car, Lake Toya is a stunning location to explore, Beautiful in winter, but surely at its best in summer when you can enjoy activities on the water such as SUP, kayak or even a simple swim in the crystal clear waters. The lake is set inside a caldera (ancient giant volcano crater) with a small island in the centre (another volcano). Surrounding the lake there are many onsens, picnic sites, visitor centres and local cafes/restaurants.
