Built by Sultan Abdülmecid I

Ortaköy Mosque, formally Büyük Mecidiye Camii in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, Turkey, the mosque is located on the waterfront of Ortaköy Pier Square, one of the most popular places on the Bosphorus. It was built by the Ottoman Sultan Abdülmecid I, and the construction was completed around 1854 or 1856.
