Petřín Hill is a picturesque spot in the heart of Prague, rising to 327 metres and offering stunning views of the city. Known for its lush gardens and serene atmosphere, it's a favourite destination for couples and families alike. The hill has historical significance, with the Hunger Wall, a medieval defensive wall built by Charles IV in the 14th century, running along its slopes. Key attractions include the Petřín Lookout Tower, inspired by the Eiffel Tower and offering panoramic city views, the enchanting Mirror Maze, and the tranquil Rose Garden. The hill is easily accessible by the funicular railway from Újezd Street. With its blend of natural beauty, historical landmarks, and romantic charm, Petřín Hill is one of the most romantic places in Prague, perfect for leisurely strolls and picnics.
The funicular opens every day from 9 am - 11:30 pm at intervals of 10 - 15 minutes from April until October. From November until March, it opens from 9 am - 11:20 pm. On weekends many locals go up to the top of Petřín and there is usually a line for the funicular.
