Experience the Best of Thailand's Iconic Island

Phuket is Thailand's largest island and one of the country's most popular destinations. It's often dubbed the Pearl of Andaman, and no wonder: the dense, tropical interior, fringed by white sandy beaches and turquoise waters is extraordinarily beautiful. Packed with all manner of sea and land based activities, from snorkelling to elephant trekking, it's also a great place for doing nothing at all. Kata Beach, separated in two by a headland, lies on the island's southwest coast. The bar scene here is fairly low key and restaurants can be found in the area, from fine dining to basic beach cafés. Late in the year, the bay fills with dozens of beautiful yachts that come to Phuket for December's King's Cup Regatta, Asia's premier sailing event.
