Le Rouret
The local area
A historical province in south-eastern France, rich in its own unique culture and boundless charm, the French region of Provence is a place which will call you back again and again.
With luxury property across the region, in locations such as the Cote D'Azur, the provencal village of Le Rouret, and the peaceful Alpilles town of Molleges, our property investment portfolio will enable you to relish the most beautiful luxury villas in this most beautiful part of the world.
There's endless things to see and do in Provence. Enclosed by the Alpine Italian border, warm Mediterranean Sea and the banks of the Rhone, Provence's interior comprises of untouched countryside, fortified towns and amazing cities, with a distinct character that reveals years of varied cultural influences.
A Divergent History
An ancient settlement for the Greeks, the first Roman province beyond the Alps, and once home to the Roman Catholic Papacy, Provence is the setting of a powerful and distinct past. Becoming part of France only five hundred years ago, the area's individual spirit has been defined by the many influences of its history. The attributes that still draw people to the area today seem to have been just as compelling throughout the centuries- and the lives, events and efforts of these ages resonate throughout the landscape.
The many magnificent castles, cathedrals and fortified towns of Provence give a glimpse into the battles, courts and religious influences that have shaped this independently spirited region. Yet you can reach even further back in history here, past the territorial fights of the Middle Ages and even past the wonders of ancient Rome and Greece. The Cosquer Cave, only accessible by diving, is decorated with prehistoric drawings of bison, seals, horses and human hands, amazing images that offer a glimpse into our ancient past.
Art, Architecture and Purple Vistas
A visit to Provence is to be surrounded by the panoramas that inspired artists like Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cezanne, Matisse and Picasso. Cezanne was in fact a native of Provence, and from our luxury villas you can take in the countryside that inspired him to create paintings such as Montagne Sainte-Victoire, as well as visit his personal studio. Pablo Picasso spent the last 12 years of his life in Mougins, where is his work (as well as hundreds of paintings, drawings and sculptures by other important artists) is exhibited at the Musée d'Art Classique de Mougins.
The Gorges du Verdon is considered one of Europe's most beautiful river canyons, and the turquoise-green of the river Verdon is open for exploration by kayak. Then there's the must-see lavender fields, which scent the air and colour the scenery in an intense purple from June to August. For man-made marvels, there's the famous Pont d'Avignon half bridge over the Rhone, countless castles (including the Chateau de Lacoste, once owned by the infamous Marquis de Sade) and cities like Marseille, Orange and of course the Papal city of Avignon, which hosts a fantastic summer festival.
High End Produce and Fine Dining
From open markets selling fresh bread, lavender honey and seasonal produce, to high end restaurants (our Le Rouret luxury villa is within situated within a 15km radius of 10 Michelin star restaurants), Provence has some outstanding food and drink on offer. You can experience the highest standards of fine dining, relax in family-run restaurants, tour vineyards and enjoy town centre cafes, soaking up the best of France through its world famous produce.
