Mallorca
The local area
Mallorca is an island of global appeal. The nature reserves, historical sites and buzzing resorts of the island are all bound by miles of exquisite beaches and turquoise, sparkling sea, with the vibrant and architecturally impressive capital city of Palma adding another dimension to this already varied island.
Both bursting with life and sleepily relaxing, here you can enjoy your getaway however you choose, whether that's sun-soaked days on the white, sandy beaches, a day trip of cultural discovery, exuberant nights out, or simply relaxing in the villa; a true home-from-home.
Mallorca's Rich History
Having been in the hands of the seafaring Phoenicians, before flourishing under Roman rule, colonised with churches by the Byzantine Empire, progressed by the Moors and taken over by James the Conqueror, Mallorca is steeped in history. Middle Age watchtowers along the coast and fortified castles are the beautiful and interesting result of continuous invasion, including the Capdepera Castle, Castell d'Alaro and Castell de Bellver in Palmer.
To reach deeper into the past, ruins of the ancient Roman town Pollentia are well worth a visit, as are the impressive Bronze Age settlements Capocorb Vell, Such a varied past can't help but make for a richly fascinating history, and in Mallorca the remnants of centuries are visible everywhere. Our luxury villa will give you the perfect home away from home, enabling you to immerse yourself in the history of this island, with a dedicated concierge service that can help you plan your ideal holiday.
An Island of Highlights
There's so much to do in Mallorca that it can be difficult to decide where to start. While heading straight down to a hidden cove and dipping into the sea will always be a popular option, a fantastic introduction to island's varied landscape is the Palma-Sóller train. This delightful antique train rattles through the Tramuntana Mountains in a journey that takes about an hour. If you allow yourself some time, you can wander around Sóller's main square and enjoy a leisurely drink before making the return trip to Palma.
Taking a tour of the spectacular limestone Caves of Drach at Porto Cristo, which ends with floating concert on Lake Martel, Europe's largest underground lake, is a great way to take in a natural wonder. Meanwhile, a tour of the magnificent Palma Cathedral, located right on the seafront and one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in Spain- having been partially renovated by Gaudí- will see you enjoying a manmade one.
Those on the hunt for unusual and interesting objects can browse around the small shops and galleries of Dela, a bohemian-chic village that drew artists and musicians in the early 20th century, while golfers can enjoy the Club de Golf Alcanada, the only course in Mallorca that is right next to the sea. Our luxury villa has been handpicked to ensure the whole island is easily accessible while providing the comfort and privacy of a home away from home.
Luxury Cuisine in Mallorca
Mallorcan cuisine - based on pork, fish and vegetables generously spiked with garlic and olive oil - is vividly delicious. You can imbibe the local culture at the vineyards creating beautiful wine, while farming on Mallorca produces citrus fruits, apricots and almonds which you can buy in weekly markets. There is also a wealth of great restaurants. These include Bona Taula, which features an excellent wine list, the exclusive Port Petit, with mouth watering Mediterranean cuisine which is said to be a favourite with King Juan Carlos, and Sa Galera, a lovely restaurant set in an old 13th-century finca.
