Dar Hasnaa
This terracotta-hued villa, a 20-minute drive from Marrakech, is a dream hideaway, set in its own walled garden overlooking the snow-capped Atlas Mountains.
On entering the villa's wooden gates, you'll find palatial grounds with a garden in full bloom: roses, palm and olive trees flanking a quirkily-shaped lap pool. Fronting the pool is the main house, a Moorish palace with three sun terraces and several entryways painted in saffron shades.
Inside, the walls are hand-finished in Tadelakt, traditional plasterwork made of limestone while the floors are adorned with Moroccan tilework and Berber rugs.
Cook up a feast in the kitchen and entertain friends in the dining room or outdoors on the veranda, overlooking the landscaped gardens.

Everything was excellent. The whole place was beautifully maintained and an added bonus in the beautiful gardens were the peacocks and guinea fowl.
Marrakech
Think of Marrakech and you are probably conjuring up images of snake charmers, dancers, musicians and storytellers. And you'd be right. Cultured, energetic Marrakech is one of the few places in the world to have embraced modern-day living without losing touch with its exotic, medieval heritage.
