It's not every day that you can say you have been swimming with penguins! A trip to Boulders Beach in Simonstown will provide the opportunity to do just that. Home to the world famous colony of African Penguins, Boulders Beach sits on the Indian Ocean side of the Cape, which allows for some lazy swimming and sunbathing. Also known as 'jackass' penguins, due to the donkey-like noises they make, this endangered species can only be found in 27 other sites around the world, including Robben Island. A great day out, and most suited for warm, sunny days if you want to swim.
