Clifton Beache: Cape Town’s Blue Flag Paradise
Top-Rated Beaches and Trendy Vibes
Considered by many visitors to be the jewel of Cape Town's coastline, Clifton's four sandy beaches are each separated by huge granite boulders. In 2003 and 2004, these beaches were rated as one of Discovery Travel Channel's Top Ten Beaches, as well as being awarded Blue Flags. Clifton is sheltered from Cape Town's prevailing south-easterly wind which makes it especially pleasant. Fourth Beach is the most popular among the trend-setters who aren't interested in swimming in the icy Atlantic Ocean and only want to top up their sleek tans. The sunsets at Clifton are particularly beautiful and it is wonderful to take a sunset picnic and enjoy a sundowner on the beach.
